What are we looking for??
Queer ecologies has had many different definitions through the years. At Woodsqueer, we view nature as inherently “queer.” It’s queer to care about the fate of our natural world, to posess this liminal space, and to make a dwelling of your own there. While we are especially interested in the voices of underrepresented artists, we are looking for any writer who thinks their work to be queer within our natural world.
We are looking for POETRY, FICTION, ESSAY, FINE ART, AND PHOTOGRAPHY!
WRITTEN WORD GUIDELINES
POETRY
We are currently accepting submissions for poetry. Please submit 3-5 poems. No line number max or min. We welcome prose poetry, experimental, weird, whatever you create. Show us your best work.
FICTION
We are currently accepting submissions for fiction. Max 10 pages double spaced. Please submit work you think ties in with the theme of the magazine.
ESSAY
We are currently accepting submissions for essays. Please submit up to 3,000 words on the subject of queer ecologies. This can take whatever form you please, as long as it ties back to the general theme of the magazine.
ART GUIDELINES
FINE ART
We are currently accepting fine art submissions. Send us your art of any medium. Please only send 2 pieces at a time unless a series. Send in PDF or JPEG format.
PHOTOGRAPHY
We are open for fine art submissions. Send us up to 10 photographs in the JPEG format or PDF format.
